ALG offers a full range of graphic and prepress capabilities from initial design and layout to finished product. With our Macintosh based electronic prepress system we are able to provide high quality, service, and quick turnaround.

How to Supply Electronic Files -
We can receive files by the following methods:

Formats we do not support: .gif, .jpg, or .png
We do not support these, low resolution, file formats. They do not have enough resolution to reproduce to the quality level that is expected. We must have a resolution minimum of 300; most of these formats have a resolution of less than 100 and do not reproduce to the quality that is acceptable to most of our customers.
Auto CAD (These CAD files provide view only capability; these files are not usable formats for graphic reproduction purposes and will have to be re-drawn in a usable format (see above). |
Fonts and support files:
- To eliminate cross platform and reflow problems regarding fonts, we ask that all fonts be turned to outlines. If you need assistance with this function, please ask your ALG Customer Service Representative for a tip sheet.
- Please supply all the support files for native files that have links to other art files (ie., logos, photographs, drawings, tables, graphs, etc.)
- We are not able to use files with placed images. We have to be able to touch each element in the file in order to trap it for print manufacturing tolerances.
- Four color process. Photoshop files are to br submitted in CMYK (not RGB) with black text as 100% black, not as a composite black of all colors.
Proofs -
Proofing is a critical step in assuring you receive your product to your specifications. The following are the proofing methods available to meet your needs.
PDF-files will be emailed to you for your approval. This is the most timesaving and cost efficient way of proofing. Click here to download Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe Web site.
- We soft proof all jobs for copy and content by .pdf or fax
- We provide film positives for critical die cutting tolerances
- We will provide a color accurate target for approval, once the .pdf has been approved for copy and content, for all 4/c process projects and will be used press side for color match.
